Local 15-Year-Old Author Releases Second Book in "Bramblewoods" Series

​While most ninth graders are focused on navigating their first year of high school, Warwick resident Nicholas Bramble has been busy building worlds. At just 15 years old, the La Salle Academy student and award-winning artist has released the second installment in his Adventures at Bramblewoods series.
Bramble recently sat down with Deana of the Rhode Island Wave to discuss his creative process and the release of his latest work, which follows a group of characters exploring a fictional, unfinished theme park on an abandoned mountain in New Hampshire.
"The book is about a theme park that was never finished... it was supposed to be a surprise, but the owner never received the gift," Bramble explained. The story features a treasure hunt narrative similar to his first book, which centered on an abandoned hotel. As the series progresses, the characters work to restore these forgotten locations to their former glory.
Bramble is a hardworking creative talent who illustrates his own novels. His unique process begins not with words, but with images. "I first started off drawing at a young age," he said. "I would do a drawing and write small captions... those drawings led to bigger, more complex stories."
The new book features approximately 10 to 15 original illustrations, all inspired by Bramble’s real-life family vacations and visits to theme parks across the United States. Despite the realistic setting, he confirmed that the park itself is entirely a product of his undeniable imagination.
Beyond his writing and art, Bramble is a proficient piano player and an active member of various school clubs. He balances his artistic endeavors with a busy academic schedule at La Salle, yet he continues to find time to create stories that bring smiles to those around him.
"Everything with me has a story," Bramble noted, hinting that plans for a third book are already underway.
